Cook, teacher, nurse, janitor, chauffeur, entertainer, maid, referee, supporter, and can make anything better with a kiss! :) I'm also a human jungle gym, my fingers are teething rings, my shirt's a permanent burp rag, my lap's a changing pad and my hair is used as a monkey rope! :) Yes, I'm a mom! :)

Yes, that's me. Dowdy, unfashionable...unkempt? No, not really. I still manage to take a bath, comb my hair, and look presentable everyday. :D

I guess I'm just different from most mothers out there. There are these moms who have great hair, wear make up, wear sexy clothing, pierce their bellies, grow and paint their nails, wear high heels. Some even go to bars and party until the sun rises the next day... It's just not me! I would rather stay home, read a good book or watch TV. It's not that I have anything against mothers who party until they drop. I know that mothers should have time for themselves and I guess that's how they spend their free time.

I'm a stay at home mom and I admit I also don't have so much time for myself. I have a toddler and a baby that demands my attention all the time. Most of you will probably tell me that I should have hired a nanny for my kids. I didn't hire a nanny to look after my kids because it's costly and I want to take care of my them myself. Besides taking care of my children, I have household chores to attend to. It's not easy. With all those handful of things to take care of, I don't have the time to look great anymore. I can't even follow the latest fashion trends. I can just afford to look nice. :)

All I can say is that I'm just a very simple woman. Right, frumpy. :)

  1. the invisible labor of an unpaid mother nicely depicted

  2. I sometimes think that, for all the hard work I do, even if I get minimum wage, at 168 hours a week, I would get a pretty nice pay check! LOL
